Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I press or preserve my flowers?
Pressing and preserving your bouquet of flowers can be a beautiful and sentimental way to cherish your special memories. Pressing your flowers captures and preserves their delicate beauty and allows them to serve as tokens of gratitude and remembrance toward a particular joyous occasion for years to come. Inga Flowers began with a desire to honor our memories and strengthen our connection to special events, treasured places, and loved ones.
Q: How soon after an event do I need the send the flowers?
It is best to begin the flower preservation process as soon as possible after the event. Ideally, the flowers should be delivered to us within 1 - 2 days (3 at the latest). Fresh flowers are more pliable and retain their color better when pressed. Waiting too long can result in wilting and loss of vibrancy, which may impact the final result. Unfortunately, flowers that show signs of decay are not able to be preserved.
Q: Do I need to hand-deliver the flowers or can I ship them?
You can do both! If you are local to the Philadelphia area, then you are welcome to drop off your flowers at our studio in Ardmore, PA after scheduling an appointment with us. We are available for appointments Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm. You may also use Uber or Lyft delivery services to deliver your flowers. If you are located outside of the Philadelphia area, then we strongly encourage you to use FedEx or UPS overnight shipping. Some flowers may brown or lose petals during shipping. This risk can be reduced by shipping your flowers while they are as fresh as possible with overnight shipping. Please note that we can only work on flowers in the condition that they are received.
Q: How do I care for the flowers prior to shipping?
If your beautiful bouquet has spent a large amount of time outside of water during your event, then remember to place them in water as soon as possible after the event. Store the flowers somewhere cool and away from direct sunlight until they are ready to be shipped. You will receive detailed instructions of how to pack your flowers for shipping after your order has been received.
Q: Do you work with bouquets that are already dried?
Yes! Dried flowers can still be made into beautiful compositions. We can work with dried flowers regardless of their age as long as a number of their petals remain intact. So dust off that bouquet you have been saving for 10 years; you may be surprised what we can transform it into!
Q: How long does the preservation process take?
The full process takes about 3 to 4 months. We try to work as efficiently as we can but top quality cannot be rushed. The pressing and preservation process takes 4 to 6 weeks depending on the type of flowers in your bouquet. Once the flowers are completely dried, we will begin to create a few design options. You will receive an email with the different design mockups about 8 weeks after your flowers are received. You will then choose which design you prefer and we will create the final composition. Crafting and assembly of your final composition takes about 3 to 4 weeks depending on product type and complexity.
